Luna's first real walk

So today I took Luna for a walk. We started at the MCT YMCA walked about 1/2 mile out and then went back. She did surprisingly well for her first real 'walk'. Even when we came across another person walking her two dogs, Luna did great. She sniffed and got sniffed and then that was that. The entire walk she was sniffing everything in reach but for the most part she walked along very well. She still won't jump up into my truck, but we're working on that.

For the most part she's a good dog, we just need to start working with her more in the way of her understanding what we what and us understanding what she needs. So far so good though.

The other night we took her over to wraa  and wraasgirl 's house on Monday night so she could play with their dogs. She had an absolute blast. When we got her home she zonked out on the couch. She had a lot of fun with Wendigo and once Luna calms down some, Bowzer (wraa is this how you spell his name?) might have fun with her too. Summer, I think is just kind of a grumpy dog and not too into bouncy clumsy puppies. So we'll see about that one.

So, very excited, in case you couldn't tell. We have a dog! Ya!!!!! She is absolutely adorable. Don't really have a name picked out yet, we're bouncing between three different ones. I'll get pics up here soon. Got to go to sleep now, more later.

I guess I felt like describing my meals *shrug shoulders*

So, yeah, walking, mornings .... not yet. I'm a big chicken and really not that much of a morning person.

But at least I'm eating more. Because as it was, even if I did start a morning workout ritual I wasn't eating enough to last the entire day. Now, I'm eating full breakfasts and mostly full lunches. I just need to find a way to consume more protein. Today I'm adding tuna to my salad, that should add a pretty good amount, but it's still far from what I should be eating. And the good thing is that it's not terribly expensive. I'd be spending this money on fast food or power bars at work anyway, so why not use this money to properly fuel myself? Breakfast is usually an omelet with mushrooms, cherry tomatoes, onion and cheese with some type of fruit smoothie made with frozen fruit, yogurt, fruit juice and whey powder (for protein).  Lunch is a salad with spring mix, cherry tomatoes, mushrooms, carrots, avocado, dried cranberries and ranch dressing. I tend to go all out with the dressing because it's really my only fatty food that I consume other than avocados and many vitamins are fat soluble, so I need to get it in somewhere. Past that, its a big thermos full of hot tea that I can drink all day at work.

Speaking of work, gotta go.

*cracks knuckles*

Well, holy cow, I guess I'm actually making a post. Don't fall over now.

Not really a whole lot going on, work and stuff and more work and some stuff and a lot more work. Customers are stupid; it happens.

So, the real reason for posting is this, I'm tired of being lazy. I'm tired of waking up at 10 am and still being tired. I don't eat very well when I do eat and I don't work out at all. Summer before last Ben, Brad and I were going to the Mound a couple times a week and I felt great. I was also working at Wal-Mart and working my ass off, literally, I lost like 15 lbs while working in receiving, it was glorious.

But anywho, the point is, I haven't been doing crap. This needs to change. Collinsville has plenty of walking trails and sidewalks, I even have some routes planned out, I just need to get my ass up and go. So I guess this is my belated New Year's Resolution.

The plan is to hit the trails in the mornings, starting on the days that I close, so I can get used to being awake that early. *shudder* Be out walking by maybe 7:30/8ish, something to that effect. Then I have my whole day before me to be awake and energized. Maybe I can actually do some cleaning, since I would be awake, and not asleep. Shut up Benji. Then, once i get used to that start going earlier and earlier so I can be out and back and then work an opening shift. Yeah, I can totally do that, right....

Since I'm already screwed for Monday morning, since it's already 12:30 and we're going to Marissa tomorrow I say that I shall start on... *shuffles through papers in rather large top hat* .... Tuesday? Sure, sounds good. It's totally going to be cold, great. I guess I'm breaking out the UnderArmour.

If you want to join me on my little experiment let me know. Maybe I'll be more apt to actually stick with it if I've got some other people to yell at me if I don't. Music will be provided and btw I walk really fast sometimes.

Wish me luck.....and warmth?

pics and Jess is Poor fund

I put some pics up on my deviantart page that I had taken. They look neat. http://towishanddream.deviantart.com/

In other news, work is going ok. Last week, the other good apparel girl was gone, so I got more hours than normal, which was good, kinda. It would be better if all those extra hours were permanent. o well. And now this month, other crappy apparel girl is going to be gone for most of the month, so I get her hours. But, alas, they are not permanent. pooh.
So, I'm kinda looking for another/different job. Something close that I don't have to drive fifty million miles to get to. And something that doesn't pay too crappy. Yeah, its pretty hopeless. If I had any waitressing experience, then I'd go someplace fancy and try for good tips, but no experience. Nada. I suck.

So, If anyone wants to donate to the Jess is Poor fund, feel free to do so.

Adwork pics

So, Shanna used me as a model for some adwork that she had for EyeWearHaus in St. Louis. She put some of them on her myspace, and I stole them. Muahahahahhaha. Go look at them.
